The Simpsons Play Lacrosse

qc_20161110101301 So in case you've been living under a rock, you probably didn't see our great sport of lacrosse make an appearance on America's #1 animated series, The Simpsons. The episode was fantastic, sure it pokes fun at some of the "lax bro" stereotypes, but that is what makes satiric comedy so funny. The episode starts with the city of Springfield suspending their football program due to safety concerns which leaves the town in disarray. At a town hall meeting lacrosse is introduced to the people and they take the idea and run with it. Now if you've seen The Simpsons before, you wouldn't expect Millhouse's dad, Kirk, to be a lacrosse enthusiast. But in the episode we learn that he was actually a lacrosse star in college but wound up breaking his wrist and never playing again. Kirk assumes the role of head coach and enlisted the help of Homer Simpson to be his assistant coach. The episode goes on where Homer inevitably screws up and temporarily ruins the relationship just before the championship game. But then goes on a journey to mend the relationship. qc_20161110100806 I don't want to get into too much detail because you need to watch the episode to truly appreciate the comedy. But I just wanted to point out that the fact lacrosse made mainstream television is a step in the right direction for the sport it self. There is no doubt lacrosse has grown exponentially and is now super relevant and popular. I love seeing the sport grow, maybe this is a start to having lacrosse on ESPN more often?????? (Hopefully)
