Did you Know: New England's Biggest Lacrosse Fan

bellicheck-fieldNo. We did not Photoshop this; you are not hallucinating. This is REAL and it is AWESOME. Bill Belichick Field was constructed in the summer of 2016 in Uganda, thanks to a combined effort between the Bill Belichick Foundation and Fields of Growth International. But did you know his ties to lacrosse go further than just donating money through his foundation? Growing up in Annapolis, MD. Bill played high school lacrosse and even went on to play collegiality for Wesleyan University in Connecticut where he served as the team captain his senior year! Legend has it, lacrosse is also his favorite sport. All three of the Belichick children played college lacrosse. His daughter, Amanda, played attack at Bill's Alma Mater Wesleyan University. She is now the head coach of the women's lacrosse team at Holy Cross as a matter of fact! Stephan, Bill's oldest son, played defense and LSM for Rutgers; while Brian played midfield at Trinity College. Stephan and Brian have finished their lacrosse playing careers and have joined their father on the New England Patriots coaching staff. Although there may not be any family ties, former JHU star LSM Mike Pellegrino is also on the patriots staff. Bill loves the crossover athlete, could this be his way to scout lacrosse players for the NFL??? (ie. Chris Hogan, former Penn State Lacrosse middie turned current New England WR). With the next couple championship weekends set to take place in Foxborough, you might even be able to catch Bill at a couple of games!
