NJ TOC Update / Preview

The New Jersey 2019 Tournament of Champions has been filled with plenty of good lacrosse. On Monday June 3rd we saw a great game between the number 4 seeded Montgomery vs the number 5 seeded Moorestown. Moorestown took the lead in the beginning 3-1 then the Montgomery went on a run in the second quarter scoring 6 goals. This was enough to put them in the lead. They then scored 4 goals in the third quarter which secured their victory. We also witnessed the number 3 seed Summit take down number 6 seed Moorestown Beard 16-3 in a fairly one sided contest. For the TOC Semifinals Summit will take on Morris County rival Mountain Lakes while Montgomery will have to face Delbarton. All remaining games will take place at Kean University. We expect to see a big turnout for these much anticipated matchups. At this point in the tournament it is hard to predict who will win as all the teams left are capable of beating one another. Each of these teams have plenty players with playoff experience which makes it even more interesting. Delbarton should have the edge against Montgomery given they have won the TOC the past 3 years in and a row and have more experience. Montgomery's offense has been playing at an extremely high level though and should be a big test for Delbarton's defense. The Summit vs Mountain Lakes game could easily go both ways as both teams are 17-2 on the year. Both rosters are loaded with talent but the edge here should go to Mountain Lakes given their road to winning their group was more difficult. Summit coasted through group 2 for the most part, they beat each team handley while Lakes has had several hard fought playoff games this year. Ultimately it will come down to what team shows up to play on those game days. The winners of both upcoming games will show down for the championship on June 8th at 7:30pm.
